The Cornish Coastal Footpath goes all the way around the Cornish Peninsula ... and its magnificent. Narrow and rocky in places, often steep when going down into (and up out from) a cove, beach or harbour, the Coastal Footpath walks which we refer to here are as small as 1.5 miles (2.25kms), through 3 miles (5kms), up to 5 miles (8kms). Approximately.

We've tried to organise them in connected batches of three. So, for example, there are three around The Lizard Peninsular ... one from Cadgewith to Church Cove, one from Church Cove to The Lizard, and one from The Lizard to Kynance Cove ... so you could walk any ONE of them, or you could walk just TWO , or you could walk all three in one go. So they are just as short or as long as you choose... that's the idea, anyway.

And the same with the river and estuary walks. Again, we've tried to 'batch' them in threes ... short (up to 2 miles), medium (up to 3.5 miles), standard (up to around 5 miles). So, again, you can do one, two or three of them at one go ... your choice.

***

Here's how we organise it ... but we're flexible, so if you've got different walks or a different ways to do it, we'll be happy to try them your way ... with the reservation that we have to think it's 'do-able' and makes sense.

***

1. It works out best when you stay as guests at our Bed & Breakfast Guest House in Truro ... less 'down' time wasted travelling ... but we're more than happy to provide just the 'tour/s' only if you'd like to make your own accommodation arrangements. No problem.

2. Truro is at the geographical centre of Cornwall and is a characterful, prosperous little city with lots of good restaurants, shops (and much more) ... for our B&B details see elsewhere on this site (top left box ... scroll down to 'B&B in Truro') or go to www.fieldingsintruro.com.

3. As previously stated, we divide our walks into 'short', 'medium', and 'standard'. So if you are looking for 20 miles of good hiking, then this is not the site for you (sorry).

4. We plan on one walk in the morning and another in the afternoon ... with a stop for an easy, enjoyable lunch between ... please note the recurring word 'easy'.

5. We plan the walks to be ...

Walk Approximate time Approximate Distance
Short easy 45 minutes/60 minutes approximately 1.5 miles/2.5 kilometres
Medium easy 75 minutes/90 minutes approximately 3 miles/5 kilometres
Standard easy 120 minutes/135 minutes approximately 4.5 miles/7.5 kilometres

... but times can vary.

6. We've divided the walks into five areas. So, if you look at each area, you can choose a morning and an afternoon walk from that area ... and that will be our destination that day ... the tours and day of your choice. Please feel free to email us on mike@cornwalltour.com if you'd like to discuss requirements or different possibilities.

7. What does it all cost? Go to our Walking Tours with Accommodation Prices page.

Please Note: Our walks can be over rough tracks ... so wearing stout shoes, carrying a waterproof, and bringing a small bag with a drink and a bar of chocolate (or something) could be a good idea.
