We have always been interested in the history and culture of our 'county', although, strictly speaking, Cornwall is not an English county because England was formed by the amalgamation of the seven Saxon kingdoms and Cornwall was never part of a Saxon kingdom.  Cornwall's history and culture are Celtic ... with Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Brittany and Galicia. 

We're members of the Cornwall Family History Society, the Cornwall Association of Local Historians and the South West Maritime History Society amongst other organisations.

Mike is a member of the Ramblers Association, with whom he walks ... and of course, when he's not guiding people along the coastal paths, he's out researching the walks and enjoying them himself.  It's a tough life!

We've been providing Tours for approximately eight years, and B&B accommodation for approximately seventeen years. 

And we know Cornwall, it's walks, roads, cliffs, harbours, towns, villages ...  and back roads ... inside-out!

This picture was taken above the River Fal opposite Tolverne (hard standing and cottage in the right of the picture on the opposite bank of the river) ... one of many places from which troops left for Normandy and the D-Day Landings ... and one of many places visited by General Eisenhower prior to the invasion of Europe.  the American 29th Division built the hard standing and the road which leads to it. They were the among the first ashore on the 6th June 1944 and they suffered very heavy losses. We salute them.
